Event Space Garden

Featured in San Diego Home and Garden Magazine, this beautiful garden is a multi-use event space.

Working in collaboration with a close friend and colleague, Chris Gustard helped design for the client what was initially a wedding garden that is now used as a private event space. Little expense was spared to make this multi-use garden a beautiful space. The two-person landscape architecture design team worked with the client to develop three different landscape concept plans and were selected to move forward with preparing final construction plans.

The pedestrian entry makes a grand statement with a massive wood trellis leading onto a flagstone and brick paved promenade with a rock waterfall. A decomposed granite trail leads users to meditation gardens featuring basalt columns, corten steel edging, a raised fire pit, and native grass meadows. Drainage of the site was carefully designed to incorporate bioswales meandering along the trails using decorative rock and boulders and planted with native grasses.

Contracted services also included assisting the client in the bidding process, landscape contractor selection and overseeing installation throughout construction.
